Double-booking is a term that refers to a situation where a short-term rental host schedules two separate bookings for the same property on the very same date and time. Double-booking is a problem that almost every vacation rental owner has experienced at some point.

When you decide to take your vacation rental business to the next level, you may start to list your property on multiple vacation rental websites. There are multiple vacation rental websites in the market today. Listing the same property on multiple websites is a great initiative but it comes with several ups and downs, among them is double-booking.
One of the ways of avoiding the double-booking problem is to sync calendars of all the platforms. Follow the steps below to sync calendars of your listing from other vacation rental websites to your listing with Likizo Lettings.
How to avoid double-booking on Likizo Lettings?
Every business owner who has a room booked for a meeting or event is familiar with the stress and anxiety that come with double-bookings. Here's a tip: if you're not sure if you have a double-booking, you probably do! Here are a few simple steps you can take to help avoid or resolve this issue.
Log in to website and go to My Listings, choose the listing you want to edit.
Click on the small pencil in front of the listing to edit it.
In the calendar section, you need to paste the external feed of the iCalendar from the other websites like Airbnb or Booking.com.
Once you hit save the first synchronization is made and data gets imported. There is also a cron job that will check the feed every 3 hours for the new info. If you want to manually trigger the synchronization just push save again.
The external booking data will appear in the calendar page with a special purple label (bookings made on Likizo Lettings will be in the green label).
Note if you access the listing iCalendar feed link directly you would see only an error message. This is ok – this is how it should function.
Most of the time, double-bookings aren’t a big issue. It’s easy to fix them when you notice them. But, if you don’t, you could end up losing money or paying for a room you don’t really need.
